Managing staff absences, can be extremely challenging. Short term absences can lead to the workload being passed onto other team members. This impacts efficiency and productivity. Important meetings may have to be postponed, time sensitive tasks can be forgotten, systems not updated, essential housekeeping not completed. This can cause loss of revenue, lost business opportunities and low staff morale.

Longer term staff absences can be complex to manage. There is the same commitment to recruiting a new team member for a fixed time period, as there is to recruiting a permanent team member. There is a significant investment of time and energy. There is a financial commitment, in regards to staff benefits, healthcare, pension, and onboarding a new member into the company. There is the process of staff handover, the uncertainty whether the temporary team member will be a good fit with the company and have shared values.

We have fused aspects of our Work service and aspects of our Employ service, to create Vision - VA Temping.

We create a personalised VA Temping service, by having a detailed and informed company profile. We regularly request updates for the position that we provide a service for, and any relevant department or company updates. Once we receive the handover information, our dedicated team of VA’s are available within twenty four to forty eight hours.

The formula for the hours

Using the data from your company, of unplanned absences plus planned absences divided by the number of relevant employees, we are able to determine an average of hours per month that you require, for all relevant positions and departments.

However, if you have a member of your team who rarely has an unplanned absence, who prefers to plan for large blocks of time of planned absences, then we can schedule these in advance, divided into a regular monthly retainer.
